Making it through the traffic of Ho Chi Minh City was the first obstacle Linda and I needed to deal with when we arrived. On motorbike taxi we drove to the insane website traffic to our hotel, a quite hazardous experience in the start (specifically for Linda). To illustrate, all over where you are looking are motorbikes, and they are driving as pinheads.
Following experience we encountered was getting out of this insane city, which offers you no mercy! In the very early morning (prior to the peak time) we got away Ho Chi Minh and went on a less congested road to Mui Ne, a coastline town south-east of Vietnam.
No problem to take your motorbike in the bus, if you pay! Hoi An was a wonderful city to go to.
Much, we had not major difficulty with our motorbike! We figured out a road (QL 8A) which was a shortcut between the Ho Chi Minh East and Ho Chi Minh West trails.
Go for it, only thirty kilometers. This was the even worse choice ever before. The road was a hill pass, and the rainfall the day previously had changed the road right into a mud course. Brave and without quiting we proceeded the road, after 2 hours we drove nearly 10 kilometers.
The clutch was broken, but we found a man near the road so pleasant to fix it briefly by changing the clutch with the hand brake! We continued, yet the roadway worsened and even worse! We were battling and we fell down in the mud a number of times. After virtually 5 hours we came to be extremely desperate; did we ever before leave this mud? Ultimately we located some roadway workers and one of them was so friendly to take Linda on the back of her bike and we proceeded this way.
Our shortcut did not worked out, after 6 hours, mud anywhere and a damaged motorcycle we got to the Ho Chi Minh West path. Another wrong estimation, off program you can not drive this range in just three hours (before it came to be dark).
The man was very pleasant and also prepared us a nice dish and in the evening we played some Chinese chess. Linda and I were happy we were conserved and even found these welcoming people. My finance teacher always learned me; "there is no such a point as a freebie".
With all rotten luck worldwide, the gear of Linda's bike broke. medische matrassen kopen. Only the 4th gear was working, and simply the fourth equipment is not beneficial in the hills. With a rope and a lot of effort we pulled the motorcycle with a rope connected to the other (working) motorbike uphill
One more morning we spend battling with our bike, but ultimately we made it (after one more 4 hours) to Phong Nha. In the evening we offered the motorcycle of Linda straight, sadly the electric motor was damaged throughout the day. However, we appreciated the gorgeous and substantial Paradase cave and the massive hills in the national forest of Phong Nha.
Time for some relaxing after the motorcycle debacle, Linda and me went on a two day (one evening) cruise ship to Halong Bay. It was incredible to see the massive rock formations in the sea of Halong Bay. The fog around the rocks offered a mysterious character. During the cruise we went to a cave and entered the bay by kayak.
Our last journey we made to Sa Pa, virtually five hours drive from Hanoi. Sa is well-known for their rice paddies, which are anywhere.
It was going back in time for at the very least 100 years. The fire was also a manner to warm up the home, with smoke all over in the home (undesirable).
The next day we continued our walking and ended up at her sisters' area. Remarkably, there was a big celebration going on for Tet (Chinese New Year), Mu invited us for lunch with her family members and once more we consumed a whole lot and we intoxicated satisfied water.
Linda and I are extremely happy to Mu, we enjoyed her stories and the walking. The last day in Hanoi we marketed also our last motorcycle for a sensible cost (after some effort).
